Between my senior year of high school and the year I began college, I had a gap year. It was not the type of twelve months commonly described as a gap year. I did not travel or volunteer for mission work or take a soul-searching journey. Any of those would have been wonderful. Instead, I simply worked at my high school retail job so I could save enough money to pay college tuition.
